#L110/ILC2/WCCILC3 - Located One - in 1:18 scale is the 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R #98 Essex Wire car, as ran by Rick Kopec in the Trans Am Series. White with Black over the top stripe, has opening hood, doors, and truck. Has the race prepped 289, a 4 speed, battery in the trunk, as is the fuel cell. The chassis has the race style side exit exhaust which  is cool, as is the deep chrome oil pan.

This (real car) was the 7th of 36 factory-built competition cars. It was delivered in May 1965 to Ned Owen of Malvern, PA. Originally finished with the traditional twin blue "LeMans" stripes, Owen immediately changed them to one wide black stripe, with narrow orange stripes at the outer edges. These were the race team colors of the Essex Wire Corporation, a supplier of electrical wiring to the Ford Motor Co. Today the current car owner, Rick Kopec and his 5R098 Shelby, can be seen competing in several vintage races every year.

This 1:18 version was made by Lane Collectibles in 2001 and now is a lot harder to find. Supercar Collectibles has located some older & harder to find cars, and we now have just ONE of these. We do not see any others currently online for sale. This one is here in stock, and ready to ship to you now.
