1978 Mustang II King Cobra, Silver Metallic

The ’70s did a real number on horsepower; the King Cobra was no exception producing a whopping 139 horsepower! This car will be made by Greenlight and will include an opening hood, doors, poseable front wheels, and a nicely detailed interior.

Some people might not know that, unlike some special Mustangs, the King Cobra was never a distinct trim level. It was simply an option package on the Mustang II. The King Cobra option included the following options: 302 cubic inch two-barrel carbureted engine, hood scoop with 5.0L emblem, rear deck spoiler, “Snake” decal on the hood, black grille, black headlamp bezels, and all window trim.

Also included was a front air dam, pinstriping, “King Cobra” door decals, color-keyed sport mirrors, power front disc brakes, power steering, 4-speed manual transmission, raised white-letter radial tires, Lacy spoke wheels with trim rings and Cobra center caps, and the Rallye package consisting of heavy-duty springs, adjustable shocks, and rear stabilizer bar.
